I’ll never understand the idea that movies over a year old aren’t worth watching. Some people won’t watch black and white movies. I find that inconceivable. Others would never consider watching a silent movie, thinking that it must be flawed, somehow. Still there are others who leave the contributions of the rest of the world in the never-to-be-watched file. Why? Because they might have to simultaneously read and view. Come. On. The 1920’s silent movies of Buster Keaton, when he had full control over their content and filming and acting, are a wonder to behold. He was every bit as agile as Jackie Chan and as funny as anyone today. Check out this stunt, from Steamboat Bill, Jr. It’s only eleven seconds, so don’t worry about wasting your time or getting infected with the over-six-months-old-movie bug. Don’t believe he did it? Play it again and see his hair blowing straight up.

My favorites are the b&w kung fu movies. I would watch them on the weekends late at night. Miss those days.
